A
DEDICATED MEDICAL TEAM
Founded and directed by Lesie Kaplan, M.D. and Amy Rosenman, M.D., the
Pacific Continence Center was established after these physicians discovered
a
need for personal, comprehensive bladder dysfunction and incontinence care in
the Southern California area.
Dr. Kaplan, a board certified urologist, and Dr. Rosenman,
a board certified
gynecologist, are on the medical staffs of Saint Johns, Santa Monica
and Cedars
Sinai Hospitals, and both have teaching appointments on the UCLA Medical
School Faculty. They have devoted much of the past several years researching
and implementing the latest incontinence and urodynamic techniques, while
maintaining private practices.
The doctors meet regularly together with the Centers nursing personal
to
discuss management or patients under their care, and consult regularly
with
other experts in the field.
Dr. Kaplan is a graduate of the Honors Medical Program and Northwestern
University and received postgraduate surgical training and the University
of
California, San Diego, and urologic surgery training at the University
of California,
Los Angeles. He has done laboratory and clinical research and published
papers
on the management of incontinence. Much of his recent practice has been
devoted to female as well as male continence problems and bladder dysfunctions
including interstitial cystitis. He had particular interest in solving
voiding
problems related to prostate diseases and pelvic prolapse by non-invasive
and
minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Amy Rosenman received her medical training at New York Medical
College
and her gynecology and obstetrics residency was served at the University
of
California, Los Angeles. She has taken advanced urodynamics and incontinence
training with recognized experts in urology and urogynecology at the University
of North Carolina and University of California, Irvine. She is particularly
interested
in solving the disabilities and continence problems associated with pelvic
relaxation and prolapse in women.
Dr. William Parker received his M.D. degree from Rutgers University
Medical
School and trained in gynecology and obstetrics at the University of California,
San Diego. He was formerly the chairman of the Department of Obstetrics
and
Gynecology at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and is past President of
the American
Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists. He has special expertise
in laparoscopic
applications for incontinence and prolapse.
Dr. Dino T. De Concini received his M.D. degree from Columbia University
in
1992. He then trained in surgery and urology at the Texas Medical Center
in
Houston at Baylor. He is an attending physician on staff at Saint Johns
Health
Center Santa Monica, UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He has a special
interest in the urinary problems resulting from prostate conditions, the
treatment
of prostate enlargement with non-surgical methods, and the use of biofeedback
for bladder disorders.
